Well I just about pulled it off. A surprise 4 day trip to Dublin for my Husband for his Birthday present.
It started on Friday morning when I left home to go and teach my early morning bootcamp, I got home and Roy was up and ready for work, I told him he wasn’t going to work and that I had booked us a couple of days away, he asked where and I made out we were going to Brighton.
We left home to get to East Croydon, I then purchased train tickets to Gatwick, on the train he happened to notice on the display that we were on a train that went to Gatwick airport and not Brighton. He smirked and said “I take it we are not going to Brighton then”. I must of looked like a naughty school child that had been caught out.
We got off at Gatwick, went through security (luckily I had pre checked his bag and removed everything that shouldn’t of been in his bag, once we were through I suggested we should go and sit in the pub, he kind of guessed something else was going on then as I would never normally do that, stood at the bar, he suggested ringing his mum, when I asked why, he laughed and said cos I can see the back of her head where she is trying to hide, I was laughing my head off. We walked over to them and then he saw our son was with them too. I was so glad it was all out in the open, hiding stuff from someone and keeping secrets is soooo stressful, all I had to do now was tell him he would need to go clothes shopping as he had packed for 2 days and we were going for 4!
We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed quite a few holiday treats of a few drinks, sweets and meals out.
Dublin is an amazing place, so much to do, so many different bars and restaurants and the people are so friendly. We were lucky with the weather too, bright blue skies, lovely sunshine.
Well we are back home, refreshed after a nice break, I thought I would get on the scales and I weighed the same as before I went, HOWEVER I know there is more to it than just the scales, you always need to keep an eye on measurements. I may not have gained pounds on the scales but I have gained some centimetres, my tummy is definitely a bit swollen and my thighs too, so it is not just about the weight, it is always worth monitoring your measurements every couple of weeks too.
It will be nice to get back to good clean natural food and get back to a flat tummy.
Lets hope we have some more nice weather soon, looking forward to getting the rest of my summer wardrobe out 🙂
