Quick get away

Well I just about pulled it off. A surprise 4 day trip to Dublin for my Husband for his Birthday present.

It started on Friday morning when I left home to go and teach my early morning bootcamp, I got home and Roy was up and ready for work, I told him he wasn’t going to work and that I had booked us a couple of days away, he asked where and I made out we were going to Brighton.

We left home to get to East Croydon, I then purchased train tickets to Gatwick, on the train he happened to notice on the display that we were on a train that went to Gatwick airport and not Brighton. He smirked and said “I take it we are not going to Brighton then”. I must of looked like a naughty school child that had been caught out.

We got off at Gatwick, went through security (luckily I had pre checked his bag and removed everything that shouldn’t of been in his bag, once we were through I suggested we should go and sit in the pub, he kind of guessed something else was going on then as I would never normally do that, stood at the bar, he suggested ringing his mum, when I asked why, he laughed and said cos I can see the back of her head where she is trying to hide, I was laughing my head off. We walked over to them and then he saw our son was with them too. I was so glad it was all out in the open, hiding stuff from someone and keeping secrets is soooo stressful, all I had to do now was tell him he would need to go clothes shopping as he had packed for 2 days and we were going for 4!

We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed quite a few holiday treats of a few drinks, sweets and meals out.

Dublin is an amazing place, so much to do, so many different bars and restaurants and the people are so friendly. We were lucky with the weather too, bright blue skies, lovely sunshine.

Well we are back home, refreshed after a nice break, I thought I would get on the scales and I weighed the same as before I went, HOWEVER I know there is more to it than just the scales, you always need to keep an eye on measurements. I may not have gained pounds on the scales but I have gained some centimetres, my tummy is definitely a bit swollen and my thighs too, so it is not just about the weight, it is always worth monitoring your measurements every couple of weeks too.

It will be nice to get back to good clean natural food and get back to a flat tummy.

Lets hope we have some more nice weather soon, looking forward to getting the rest of my summer wardrobe out 🙂

Yours

Sam (missing Dublin already) Markey

WHEAT IN OUR MODERN WORLD by Sam Markey

Unfortunately these days wheat is completely different to how it was years ago.

Like so many of our foods these days, it is so highly processed it is similar to sugar and can lead to some of the same problems.

There are so many more people who are wheat and gluten intolerant, they cannot digest it or it places stress on the digestive system and can also lead to a slow metabolism.

Trying to avoid anything that contains wheat flour is much better for you, lots of bread, cakes, pies, biscuits e.t.c contain it.

Eat clean, natural food and try and  avoid ALL processed food ALL of the time.

FITNESS AND PAMPER WEEKEND

A chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I have been extrememly busy organising a fitness and pamper weekend, which I am glad to say has now come together. I have beauty therapist on board, a pilates instructor, zumba instructor and a chef who will be resident for the weekend and will be freshly cooking all our meals.

The property has a beautiful bright and airy feel to it, is close to shops, coastal walks and even a designer outlet.

Every one that stays can have a choice of 2 beauty treatments, attend 2 zumba sessions, 1 pilates session, 2 bootcamp sessions and a cosmetic and skincare demo if they wish.

There is also a small hot tub in the secluded rear garden and we have been known to have some nice weather in September

The All Inclusive price for this is just £287 and your place can be reserved for just £87.

2010 nearly over. 2011 ZUMBA begins

Well this year is nearly over, I can’t believe just how quick it has gone. The last 3 months especially have been so busy with training courses and finding suitable venues for new classes starting in 2011. Im so excited about 2011, I think it is going to be a great year for fitness in the community, bootcamps and of course Zumba.

This weather is driving me mental, walking to work, wet and cold when you get there, takes forever to warm up again and then its time to go home and get wet and cold all over again. I want all the snow to disappear before I have to trudge the streets delivering all of my Zumba leaflets (10,000) of them, I don’t think it will be much fun in the snow and ice.

I’m finally organised for Christmas, family coming here for Christmas dinner and I haven’t even got to cook it!

Can’t wait to see my sons face when he opens his Christmas presents.

Well I hope you and your loved ones all have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year and I look forward to seeing you in January 2011 to work off all those extra calories!

ZUMBA

Well the phenomenon of Zumba is going from strength to strength. Everyone you speak to either goes to Zumba classes, is starting Zumba classes or has a friend/family member that goes. Its such an addictive way of keeping fit, losing weight and toning up. The statement “Ditch the workout, join the party” really does sum up the world of Zumba. The music and moves are all so different and fun, you could never get bored, there really is something for everyone no matter how young or old. I am really looking forward to teaching various Zumba classes after Xmas in the Selsdon, New Addington and Purley area. Dance away those pounds and inches. x

Fitness Rush

Well here we are, one of the most busiest times of the year in the Fitness industry. So many people making plans to start or even restart a fitness regime. The kids go back to school which is one less excuse not to exercise. We have approx 16 weeks until Christmas and its possible to get awesome results in that time.

Now is an ideal time to clean up that diet and to get fit. Imagine how you would feel at Christmas if you have lost weight, toned up and lost inches, well I think you would feel fantastic. No more excuses, make that decision, set your goals and go for it.
